Agi Akur is redefining what it means to be a fashion model. With her roots in the Kakuma refugee camp and a journey that brought her to the catwalks of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

Agi Akur is fast becoming the face of Australian fashion, and it’s only a matter of time before she takes the global stage. Despite having just a year of modeling under her belt, she dominated this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, making her runway debut with designer Aje and walking in 14 shows. We were captivated by her presence and grace, and decided to get to know her a bit better.

Agi was born in the Kakuma refugee camp, having arrived there with her parents who had walked from Kenya. Raised in Adelaide, she is now based in Sydney. Her journey to Australia was difficult, coming through a humanitarian visa program. Despite the challenges, Agi is grateful to be in Australia and excited about her future in modeling.

Beyond modeling, Agi has a diverse range of interests. She enjoys creative styling, video creation, and acting. While modeling remains her primary focus, she hopes to explore other creative outlets as her career develops. This versatility adds to her appeal as a model with a unique perspective.

Agi’s dream gig is a Versace campaign, which she sees as the pinnacle of her modeling career. However, she’s open to exploring other opportunities and collaborations. She values the creativity and artistry of the fashion industry and looks forward to working with a variety of designers.
